Seller's Narrative

25 or so years ago, we were fortunate enough to meet the sellers of our home. At the time we were expecting another child, and the previous owners wanted a young family with children to buy their house, and so we did. The moment we saw the backyard and the panoramic view, we fell in love with it. The sun room was designed and built by the original owners, it’s an amazing space for gatherings, meditation, parties, and leisure time – we even installed two swings for fun. Over the years, we’ve made improvements including the retaining wall, converting the sun room into a bonus room or Mediation hall, upgraded both bathrooms and of course our brand new kitchen countertop with full backsplash and island with our brand new double oven/convection oven and dishwasher. Right below the Mediation Hall is the rumpus room. Our house has been a popular meeting place with friends and family – and children congregate in the Rumpus room while the adults are either in the spacious kitchen or the Mediation Hall. If the walls could speak, they will tell so much memories of friends, family and the countless parties and gatherings we’ve had over the last 25 years. We love that every room has a view of either the hills, the valley or the bay. It’s a great neighborhood – we’ve known each other yet we’ve respected each others’ privacy while we look after each other as well. Occasionally a thick blanket of fog rolls in and hovers just below the Meditation Hall. Staring at it puts you in the present moment – you forget your cares, and your mind pauses for awhile, next thing you know, you’re as relaxed as you can be– makes for a heavenly experience in the early mornings! The hillside seems to be a bird sanctuary – you hear all kinds of birds, big and small. The hammock and lounge chairs are perfect spots for quiet time or unwinding from a busy day. The backyard is most pleasurable, one that we will miss quite a bit. But just like anything else, and the law of impermanence, it’s time to let go as our children have grown, and all have graduated from college. The photos can give you a glimpse of what it’s like in the house, but experience it for yourself – with the sunrise and sunsets, you too will fall in love with our home at Alhambra!
